In recent reports, the Tesla Model S,
an all electric, 5 seat sports cars, received a near perfect score from consumer
report. Starting at $63,000, it features a 17 inch touch screen in the dash
that controls everything from GPS to window controls, to seat adjustments. You can
also travel up to 200 miles in between charges. And against popular belief,
this new Tesla will go 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, just .7 seconds more than the 2013
Shelby GT 500 mustang which is powered by the most powerful v8 engine ever
produced and gets 11 mpg. Compared to other popular electric cars like the Toyota
Prius, it is twice as efficient.
I think this introduces a whole new
breed of car. A breed that can compete with gas powered sports car but without
using any gas or putting out pollution. Since the whole global warming ordeal
its been a race to see who can make the best and most efficient car and I think
tesla has done it. In an age where we are running out of gas and oil, cars like
these are a very important aspect of life in the future. They don’t harm the
environment at all and don’t sacrifice any of the luxuries were used to right
now, if anything, it has more. Cars like this are going to be more than just
prototypes and tests in the future, they will be our way of transportation.
