Electric Sports Car

In recent reports, the Tesla Model S, an all electric, 5 seat sports cars, received a near perfect score from consumer report. Starting at $63,000, it features a 17 inch touch screen in the dash that controls everything from GPS to window controls, to seat adjustments. You can also travel up to 200 miles in between charges. And against popular belief, this new Tesla will go 0-60 in 4.2 seconds, just .7 seconds more than the 2013 Shelby GT 500 mustang which is powered by the most powerful v8 engine ever produced and gets 11 mpg. Compared to other popular electric cars like the Toyota Prius, it is twice as efficient.

I think this introduces a whole new breed of car. A breed that can compete with gas powered sports car but without using any gas or putting out pollution. Since the whole global warming ordeal its been a race to see who can make the best and most efficient car and I think tesla has done it. In an age where we are running out of gas and oil, cars like these are a very important aspect of life in the future. They don’t harm the environment at all and don’t sacrifice any of the luxuries were used to right now, if anything, it has more. Cars like this are going to be more than just prototypes and tests in the future, they will be our way of transportation.

AP hacking

On tuesday, the twitter account of the United States largest new provider, The Associated Press was hacked by a group loyal to the Syrian president. President Bashar Assad later tweeted, "Ops! @AP get owned by Syrian Electronic Army! #SEA #Syria #ByeByeObama"The hackers tweet from the AP account told of an explosion  at the white house that had injured President Obama. Though the tweet was false, it raised awareness about the vonurability of social networking.
Though this wasn't the first of these social networking attacks, it has brought the most attention to it. Any time the Dow Jones drops 128 points in a minute its going to be a big deal. Any time the president is in supposed danger from the verified AP account, people are going to believe it. This just goes to show that social media attacks can be a huge weapon used against anyone in ways people would never expect. Overall, we need to protect our social networking sites and be careful of what we read and believe.

Country Nelly

In the last few years, country and rap music genres, which are thought of as polar opposites have started to come together. The recent hit my country group Florida Georgia Line, "Cruise" has now been remixed my rap star Nelly. The song which was originally a chart topper, is now on it's was again with a little bit of a new touch thanks to nelly. Back in '04, Nelly collaborated with another major country star, Tim McGraw in "over and over". The song was another major hit on both the country and rap charts. Both songs were very beneficial to all involved. It gave the rap genre lots of recognition to a blind country genre and let die hard rap fans see a little bit of country.
Though everyone may not be a fan of this new country rap genre, it plays a big role in fan bases. We now have people who have been die hard country fans their whole lives, listening to rap. Though this may seen strange it lets them be a part of something they're not usually a part of. It them a chance to hear something different but not be too far out of their comfort zone. Overall this helps diversify music as a whole. When people of different back grounds listen to the same type of music it lets them see their similarities like never before. I for one am not a big fan of the music itself, but anytime you're adding fans to both music industries and bringing people together for music, I'm all for it.

Forgivness for lying?

In the tobaccoindustry, if an executive lies to a congressional committee about the addictivequalities of smoking even though he knows smoking addiction kills thousands ofpeople each year, he should be forgiven. Regardless of whether or not peopleknow the effects of smoking, they’re going to smoke. Now maybe he shouldn’thave lied about it to congress when he straight up knew it killed people eventhough he knew it wasn’t going to hurt his sales significantly no matter whathe said but at the same time that’s his business that could be hurting from it. That's his source of income and how he provides for his family. So maybe it wasnt right for him to lie intentionally but all in all he should be forgiven because he had good intentions of providing for his family and keeping his business up and running.

WBC Mexico Vs. Canada

During the 2013 world baseball classic a bench clearing full on brawl broke out between Mexico and Canada over bunting in the 9th inning with a 7 run lead. After Canada laid down a bunt in the 9th inning, Mexican third baseman told the pitcher to hit the next batter and he complied. The benches cleared and a huge brawl broke out resulting in 7 ejections. But let's look at the root of the problem. The first tie breaker according to WBC rules is run differential, which is all Canada was trying to accomplish when Mexico started throwing at them. This is one of many rule disputes going on in pro sports at the moment including replay rules in basically every sport. Twins star Justin Morneau said that it can only go so far before you have to stand up for your self and that's what the Canadians did. This just shows that with some rules, it can cause things to get out if hand and that maybe the rules need to be evaluated for the same if the game.

Kanye West/JT beef

During his show based out of London on Friday night, Kanye west disses yet another artist. He talked on his show about Jay-z's collaboration on Justin Timberlake's new single, "Suit and Tie", saying, "I got love for Hov but I ain't f***** with that 'Suit & Tie". Hov being Jay-z's nickname, he and Kanye collaborated on the "cruel summer" mix-tape released by good music this summer. He went on to talk about his hatred for business men, the Grammys, and corporate sponsorships. This makes me think of the VMAs a few years ago when Kanye stole the mic from Taylor swift during her acceptance speech to again take up for a fellow artist, Beyonce, who is jay-z's wife.
As much as Kanye tries to be taken seriously, for the most part, especially after the 2nd time, people just blow it off and make fun of it. Maybe Kanye should just keep his opinions to a minimum and keep making good music.

evasi0n jailbreak

iOS 6 jailbreak released by evasi0n

On Monday, evasi0n released the jailbreak for apples iOS 6 software which includes the iphone 5, ipad mini, and any other devices that have been updated recently. The new jailbreak was a huge his getting over 800,000 downloads within the first 6 hours. People use the jailbreaks to get past the security restrictions on the phone to give you more freedom. The way people use it reminds me of a lot of things people do nowadays to get past things and use loopholes to their advantage. In the automotive industry, new EPA regulations require a catalytic converter on your car to prevent pollution but people strip the catalytic converter to give them added power and better gas mileage. In the article I read, Jayson Wong, an evasi0n worker tells cnet, “Once you get into the kernel, no security matters anymore.” "Then we win." And I think this is the same attitude a lot of people have when it comes to getting past regulations and benefiting their selves.

Denny's says no to guns

In Belleville Illinois, a Denny's restaurant management made Belleville PD detectives leave after other people there complained about them wearing guns. This incident reminds me of the whole anti gun laws being proposed now by the Obama administration. In the article, police chief Clay stated that, “This was an insult, a slap in the face to those detectives and to all of the men and women who proudly wear the uniform or badge and serve in law enforcement,” in the press release. This is the same attitude most people in the south have on the Obama gun laws since we all have guns for hunting and everything else. As a result of this, chief Clay banned his officers from eating at Denny's while on duty or in uniform.
